WELCOME TO YEAR 3
We have arrived at the Summer Term in what seems to be a blink of an eye! We have been so busy with all our learning from Exhibition work at the start of our year through to all our fantastic Roman learning. A long awaited highlight of the year is swimming - so we are off every Wednesday at 9.10am for that treat! Now as the weather starts to improve, we have many more exciting and varied learning opportunities which will allow us to be busy outside; investigating our local area, improving our area with artwork as well as learning about plant growth.
See below for all our topics this term.
We are lucky to have many people helping us with our classroom learning: Miss Williams, Mrs Kenyon, Mrs Williams as well as Mrs Fairhurst. We even have Mrs Benson to teach you science and singing!

This week in maths we will be practicing and showing off all our brilliant maths knowledge as we have some tests this week.
In English this week we will be completing some English tests (remember all your perfect punctuation and amazing adjectives!)
As part of our topic work this week we will be haveing a SUMO afternoon, where Year 3 and 4 will work together. Tuesday this week will see the return of our Class Governor, Ms Thompson. She has an exciting activity planned for you - something entirely different to what we have learnt about this year so far, but it could link in with 'Improving our Environment'.

Messages from Year 3!
This week we have been working very hard on our end of year tests - as a treat Mrs Riddell has shown us some of Roald Dahl's Danny the Champion of the World, the baddy has almost no neck, piggy eyes and a grumpy personality (he's amusing!)
I enjoyed swimming because I moved groups and we did relay races too! We also got to swim through hoops in the water, I had to hold my breath and keep my eyes open so I could see under the water. We also had to dive to the bottom of the pool to gather equipment.
I enjoyed writing to Miss Atkins about the pretend treasure hunt as part of our writing tests!
This week Ms Thompson joined us for sewing some seeds - infact they were herbs. I found it hard to chose my herb. Some of them have already started to grow and she was only here on Tuesday!
