What is Citizenship?
Citizenship is a relatively new aspect of the school curriculum for pupils at all stages of compulsory education. It provides pupils opportunities to learn about their rights and responsibilities, government and democracy, communities and identity.
The aim is to help all pupils understand what being a citizen involves, why it is important to know and understand our rights and responsibilities as well as helping them to learn about their local, national and global society. |
