The school has been extensively modernised in recent years. Accommodation is excellent in 5 light and spacious classrooms, together with dedicated rooms for art/DT, community, 1-1 support, nurture, ‘Every Child a Reader’ and a newly developed library. The school office is situated close to the main entrance. A large central hall provides space for whole school assemblies and events as well as indoor PE, dance and drama sessions. It is also used for dining during lunchtime. This central space also houses a dedicated ICT suite with 20 PCs. 30 laptops are available for classroom use. At Brierley we aim to recognise and respond to the needs of every child. We respond to those needs in the development of the whole child through care, guidance and support. Through our inclusive practice, our commitment to children with Special Education Needs (SEN) and our intervention programmes we work to ensure that all children at Brierley can achieve. We see education as a partnership between home and school and actively encourage the participation of parents in the learning process and in the life of the school. Parents will be asked to sign our home school agreement to show their commitment to this partnership. The school has a thriving Parent and Staff Association (PSA) which organises social and fund-raising events throughout the year.
