Dean Oaks Primary School was formed when Oaklands Community Infant School and Dean Row Junior School were amalgamated in September 2007. They were situated on separate infant and junior sites until the new building was completed in July 2009, on the junior site. The amalgamated school builds on the high standards of education the two individual schools offered, to provide modern purpose built facilities where children are prepared for the 21st Century.
The surroundings include pleasant outdoor areas with wide expanses of grass, hard surfaces, adventure playground and a grass covered mound. There is also a small copse and garden areas for the children to use.
The school playground and grassed areas are enclosed by fencing. The buildings have an efficient security system in place with the main doors having an entry code. All visitors sign in and out after using the buzzer to attract the attention of the school secretary. Visitors wear an identification badge around school.
The cloakrooms and classroom doors have access for people with a disability. The sites also include an independent day nursery and baby unit. Admission details and fees are available from the school secretary.
Before and after school care is provided by the school. The staff of the club work closely with the School to provide high quality care and good value for money. A leaflet giving futher details is available from the school secretary.
