Christ The King Primary School

Site consists of the existing St Edwards Catholic Primary School, a two storey 1960's building which is to be demolished and replaced with the new single storey school, renamed as Christ the King Primary School. The building and external areas have been designed to sit on the existing so as to not encroach on the playing fields. The school will be multi-faith for 210 pupils.

The building will rated under the BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method). BREEAM addresses wide-ranging environmental and sustainability issues and enables developers and designers to prove the environmental credentials of their buildings to planners and clients. Christ The King is aiming to achieve a ‘Very Good’ rating. The building will benefit from sola panels located on the south facing elevation of the roof. These panels will assist with heating the water used in the underfloor heating system, saving energy sources.
