Every Child a Reader (ECaR) is a programme to help individual children catch up to their peers in reading. It is only available to a few children each year, and they must meet certain requirements.
If a child is chosen for the ECaR Programme, they will have daily lessons with a qualified teacher who is trained in Reading Recovery.
Individual lessons allow us to adjust teaching to the specific needs of each child.
We are able to design each part of the lesson for the cutting edge of the child’s learning.
We tackle the problems the child is encountering at the exact time they are experiencing them. This ensures that the child makes accelerated progress, which is what they need to reach a reading level appropriate to their age. Many children exceed their targets due to this one-to-one learning.
