Thank you for your interest in working at Kingsmead.  We want all work in school to be a rewarding and enjoyable experience.  We are committed to continuous improvement and know we are only as good as the people who work with us.

Kingsmead Primary School is a one form entry community school serving the Kingsmead development in Northwich.  The school opened in September 2004 and is housed in an award-winning building, designed and built to reflect a state of the art sustainable learning environment for the C21st.  The building was designed and built as a sustainable school, minimising its impact on the environment and including features which are used to teach children about the environmental issues which will be an increasing part of everyday life in the C21st.

May 2012 the school received an Ofsted inspection which graded the school Outstanding.  The school has leading subject leaders in Mathematics and English and the Early Years environment and website have been used as exemplars by the Local Authority.

Since opening the school has received external validation from a number of agencies in addition to Ofsted:

  • Fair Trade School Status (2006)
  • Inclusion Quality Mark (2006, 2010)
  • Healthy Schools Status (2006, 2010)
  • Activemark (2009)
  • Becta ICT mark (2007, 2010)
  • Eco Schools Green Flag (2007, 2010)
  • Basic Skills Quality Mark (2008, 2010)

The headteacher and governors are committed to recruiting the highest quality staff and safeguarding children.  We expect staff to take up opportunities offered for their continuous professional development and improvement.  Staff members have achieved NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headteachers), HLTA (Higher Level TEaching Assistant) status, NCSL School Business Manager, NCSL Safer Recruitment and LLE (Local Leader in Education) since we opened and everyone has participated in high quality professional development.  Staff are supported in their career development, some have moved on to consultancy and deputy headship, others have enjoyed opportunities for secondment within the local authority where they have used their talents and expertise to the benefit of other schools.

A supportive governing body oversees and supports the work of the school.  We have an active parents and friends association who work hard for the school and staff support them in key events.  A private provider provides before and after school care on site, in the school hall or library for pupils from 7.30am-6pm.
