Cake Sale for Purple Day

Friday 28th March 3.30pm

Purple Day is the international day for epilepsy awareness.

To celebrate this year, Epilepsy Action will quite literally be turning purple,
and there will be many purple themed charity events held nationwide to raise money.
Leon David Mickleson, in year 3 and his mum will be holding a purple cake sale in the school hall to raise money for an epilepsy charity called SUDEP Action (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy). This is a charity very close to their hearts, as a very close family friend of theirs died suddenly at the age of ten.
Many of the cup cakes sold will be donated by the cake shop ‘Cake’ in Chester and will be decorated with purple icing.
Leon David is also going to be making cakes himself to sell.

Y4 Mural Project - Forests home and abroad
Just before Christmas both Y4 classes (Lime and Hazel) worked with artist Rory McCann. The children were able to produce their own paintings on canvas and followed Rory through the whole process from design to adding colour.
