Design and Technolgy
Design and Technology (D&T) is taught by modules on a termly basis.  During each module pupils work to use a variety of equipment to design and make products.  Support is given to help pupils be successful with their tasks.  Each year Upper School pupils visit West Wirral Works where they use ICT to help them complete a module.  Last year pupils worked to make a castle with moveable features.
More recently Stanley School has entered into an Enterprise phase.  Pupils worked in class groups last year to buy, make and market their own products to sell at the school Enterprise Day in December.  This was a great success and pupils from class 8 and 10 went to Enterprise Day at Aintree to take part in an event along with 15 other special Schools.
This year two parents Carol and Jayne are developing the Enterprise curriculum on a whole school basis.  Each week Carol and Jayne take groups of children throughout the school and help them to purchase materials to make and market their own goods from a set budget.  These products will be sold at School events in the hope that the pupils are able to make a profit hence developing their business and enterprise skills.
