APRIL NEWSLETTER

The sun has finally arrived in Chester and children have been up to some exciting activities in school at the beginning of our final term. Children will need their water bottles, sun cream and hats on especially hot day so please ensure they bring them to school.

PTA BINGO

Thank you everyone who attended the Bingo. It was a wonderful event which raised £275. A big thank you to all the PTA members involved who organised it and to Mr Lucas who was a superb bingo caller for the night.

PTA EVENTS UP AND COMING

Story-telling Night- Friday 17th May 2013   (4.15pm start for KS1 and 5.45pm start for KS2).

Band Night is going ahead on 21st June 2013- Tickets to go on sale shortly

Summer Fair is Friday 5th July from 3.00pm

RECEPTION CLASS ASSEMBLY

The reception class assembly took place on Friday 26^th April. It was the children’s first ever class assembly and they were fantastic! They demonstrated their maths, reading, storytelling, dance and yoga skills throughout a 45 minute assembly. Their speaking voices were loud and showed a wonderful confidence throughout. Thank you to all the parents who attended and especially to Mrs Hughes and Mrs Woods for organising such a wonderful show case of talent!

 

Year 2 Appointment Due to Mrs Bartley leaving us at the end of the year to return to live and work in Nottingham, I am pleased to confirm that Mrs Frank will be working with Mrs Sumnall next year. She demonstrates exceptional skills in teaching and will be a wonderful addition to our school TEAM. Mrs Frank will be in school to meet children in our current Year 1 before the end of the school year.

            

                                                                                                             SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

The book fair was in school during April which

many parents and children visited. You raised £381.64 in total, giving school £95 commission which will be used to purchase books for the school. Thank you  to parents who helped to run the fair after school. Their help was really appreciated.
