Welcome to Year One

This half term our topic will be 'food and farming'.  We will be finding out how seeds grow into the foods we enjoy.  We will even be growing some food of our own!

Taking a journey around the world, we will find out about the foods grown and eaten in different countries.  The children will enjoy visiting a local supermarket to find out where different fruits come from, and use their favourite fruits to make kebabs.

In art we will explore the work of Guiseppe Arcimboldo, and use his ideas to create our own food faces.

In literacy the children will write their own information books about growing.  They will look at the story of farmer duck, a very lazy farmer indeed!
