* Myths and Legends – Focussing on the myth “Theseus and the Minotaur” ,knowing features of myths and creating own myth.
* Poetry
* Imaginary worlds – based on the book “ The lion, the witch and the wardrobe”
* Instructions – writing and following them * Recounts – letters, newspaper
MATHS:
Using + - x ÷ (with 3 and 4 digit numbers) to calculate answers and solve problems, including working with money.
Multiplying a 2 or 3 digit number by a 1 digit number
Multiplying and dividing by 10,100 and 1000.
2D and 3D shape properties
Fractions and decimals
Use data to create a bar chart, line graph or pictogram
Coordinates
Time ( 24 hour + time zones) Length, Weight and Capacity and scales
SCIENCE:
Electricity – circuits, circuit diagrams, conductors and insulators, making a bulb brighter/ dimmer. Changing state/ Gases around /Separations – Solids, liquids and gases, freezing, melting, condensing, evaporating + sieving, magnets, dissolving, filtering, evaporating.
DESIGN TECHNOLOGY:
Making a puppet ( Textiles) Designing and making Christmas Cards + Christmas decorations.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Word processing – adding borders; inserting, moving and re-sizing pictures; inserting text boxes Powerpoints – Making a slide, animating a slide, adding sound to a slide.
HISTORY:
The Ancient Greeks ( THEMED UNIT) – Gods,temples, myths, theatres + How did they live their lives, and which of their ideas do we use today, such as alphabet, Olympic Games and buildings.
GEOGRAPHY:
Places ( THEMED UNIT) – Map work, relative sizes of villages, towns, cities, counties, countries, continents. Compare and contrast a village, town, city.
Mountains.
Come and join the celebration ( THEMED UNIT)- Focussing on a particular country, learn about the traditions and customs, particularly those associated with Christmas. Know some traditional Christmas tales associated with that country.Observe similarities and differences between how Christmas is celebrated in this country and how it is celebrated in the focus country.
