We hope you all had a very enjoyable Christmas break.
This is a very important term for the children in Year 6 as ther are only about 12 weeks until SATs tests(week beginning 9th May).
Year 5`s will also be working very hard and will also have tests about the same time.
Homework will resume in the first week of term .Parents,please support your child in this as it is an important opportunity for extra one to one reinforcement of class based learning.
Homework is given on Friday to be returned the following Wednesday.
Times tables tests will be on Thursdays and spelling tests on Wednesdays.
Please make a determined effort to read your reading book every night and discuss unfamiliar words and phrases with an adult.Use a dictionary to look up words when reading to yourself.

Science:Living things and their environment:we will be studying food chains,how animals and plants have adapted to their habitats and classification of animals.We will compare animals in our environment to those living in tropical rainforests.
Art:Printing using a design motif influenced by nature.Victorian artisits and designers e.g.William Morris ,Henri Rousseau.
P.E.: Invasion games e.g. Hockey.(Fridays outdoors so please bring suitable clothing)
