On Thursday 4th March, Mike Foster, the Government Minister for International Development visited Hilbre High School Humanities College to promote a new global 1 GOAL campaign supported by the UK Government and the Department for International Development. Students and staff at Hilbre High School Humanities College are celebrating significant improvements in Post – 16 results this year, with a number of exceptional performances; the results are particularly rewarding when analysed against students’ prior attainment and reflect positively on the opportunities offered by the school to a wide range of students of all abilities. The average point score per student has seen an impressive rise with the vast majority of subjects achieving 100% pass rates. Headteacher, Jan Levenson said “These results give real cause for celebration and we are all proud of the improvements which we have seen in our Post 16 examination performance this year. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our students on their considerable achievements, and to thank my team of dedicated teachers and support staff who have worked incredibly hard in order to bring about these improvements”. Amongst the top point scorers at Hilbre are Anna Mackie who is celebrating a full sweep of A grades at A level, Jet Sing Lee, Helen Ritchie, Ruth Rundle and Daniel Varcas. |

Hilbre High School Celebrates Best Ever Results - Again |

The wait is over! Anxiety and trepidation quickly dissolved into excitement and joy as students of Hilbre High School Humanities College, West Kirby, celebrate the best GCSE results in the school’s history, with 78.3% of students achieving 5 or more A* - C grades. The School’s profile in GCSE success has continued to rise over the past decade, with significant numbers of pupils attaining top grades. This year, amongst Hilbre’s high scores are Katie Wright, Paul Bradshaw, Ben Leyland, Josh Turner and Najeeda Yasmeen and Jane Thornton who both achieved 12 passes at A* and A grades. Headteacher Jan Levenson said “We are overwhelmed by these exceptional results. I am thrilled for our students, many of whom have achieved outstanding grades. Their success is a tribute to their hard work and commitment and the tremendous dedication and support offered unstintingly by the staff here at Hilbre. I am very proud of these wonderful achievements, warmly congratulate everyone who has contributed to our success and look forward to welcoming students back to commence post 16 courses in September.” |

New Minibus for Hilbre D of E Scheme
|
Following a hectic year of fund raising by students for its thriving after- school D of E scheme and with funding support for the club from the Grassroots Grants Programme - Merseyside Hilbre High School Humanities College took delivery of a new Minibus from Hoylake Van Centre who have agreed to maintain the minibus.
