Our topic this term is 'Our World'.

In September we will visit Claremont Farm.

Maths

In Year 2 we learn all sorts

of new strategies for working out problems!

We have been learning about place value

and need to know our number bonds to 10.

We are going to use these in our work

on place value.

We will develop new strategies

so that we complete our calculations

and solve problems.

We will have fun measuring

with our rulers and are looking forward

to finding out about

shape.

Weighing and telling the time

are also things to look forward to.

We really love doing PE

with Mrs. S. Perree

We are learning how to move

in lots of different ways.

We have fun responding to music

in our dance sessions.

We will practise our tennis skills too.

It will all be very exciting!

ICT

We are all excited to be using

computers to learn.

We have been discovering

lots of things about

Science and Maths -

and practising our spellings, too!

Religious Education

We will be finding out about Jesus.

We are going to learn how

He is with us

and can help us in our lives.

We are going to visit Chester Cathedral.

This is an amazing visit to a very beautiful place.

We will enjoy the feeling

of peace and wonder in this special

house of God.

We are going to explore the events of the first Christmas

and discover more about God's love.

Music

We have lots of fun

singing new songs -

and will learn to play lots

of instruments.

Art and DT

We are really fortunate to

have expert support from

Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Smethurst and Mrs Madden

so that we can do all sorts of activities.

We are looking forward to sawing wood

and making a picture frame.

We will be painting, sticking and sewing, too!
