Blackburn with Darwen Music and Arts Service is committed to providing a comprehensive music education service to all schools in the Borough. Our vision is that everyone involved in music education in the borough will work together to provide the framework and focus needed to deliver a universal music education to all young people where they can take an active part in high quality music making.

We are working towards:
  • A culture of inclusive provision for all
  • Excellent in-service provision and support for teaching staff and other providers
  • Provision of high quality and cost effective services for any young person who wishes to engage in music activities
  • Develop opportunities for young people to perform in Borough-wide ensembles
  • All musical cultures and forms being valued
We will do this by:

Creating opportunities at all levels in which our young people can develop their musical skills in a nurturing atmosphere of support and challenge in ensembles which broaden their experience and help them grow in confidence as musicians, developing not only their musical ability but their confidence as young people committed to working together for a common goal.
