Foundation Stage
At Woodchurch Road we believe young children should find learning a rewarding and enjoyable experience. We provide a variety of opportunities to promote learning and enable them to
learn from each other both indoors and outdoors.
Our children learn through a variety of different topics e.g pirates, fairy tales, space, Divali, butterflies, dinosaurs etc.
We strongly encourage parental involvement in and outside school. Each child has an "All about me " book for home use and we welcome parents into the classrooms to extend children's learning.
Your child may be chosen to take home our school pet 'King Crocky'. They will care of him and he will join in with their family life. King Crocky has a digital camera so that he can share his experiences with the rest of the class on his return.
Outdoor learning is an important part of our children;s learning experience. We have a seperate outdoor area on the playground where the children have opportunities to make dens, play instruments, use large construction and other activities which reinforce the weekly objectives.
In F2 we have been learning about the life cycle of chicks, we were given some eggs from a farm, the children have watched the eggs and the chicks growing. The children have thoroughly enjoyed feeding them, giving them plenty of water and making sure they are kept nice and warm.
