We are Years 5 and 6 at Broken Cross Community School
Our class teacher is Miss Wheeler

We can't believe that we have come to the end of our spring term in Year 5/6! 


Here are some of our highlights of our year so far....

Learning to make observations and carry out investigations in our Keeping Healthy topic
 Studying the work of a significant children's author with a focus on Roald Dahl
Learning to use similes and metaphors effectively in our work on The Highway Man
 Learning how to to keep safe on the internet in our performance 'A Play In A Day',
Learning to play an active role in our community - planting bulbs at the local skate ramp on The Weston Estate,
Learning about Sound and Hearing,
Learning how to order decimals,
Learning how to use secondary sources to research and presenting our own work on Britain Since the 1940s,
Learning how to play stringed instrument lessons (double bass, cello, violin and viola),
Learning about slavery and the impact it had on music with Miss Wallis from Fallibroome,
Raising money for Children in Need by dressing as our heroes,
A visit from Macclesfield fire fighters,
Designing and sewing our own Christmas tree decorations,
Performing at the first ever Broken Cross Community School Christmas Open Evening
Rehearsing and Performing with Silk Opera!
