WELCOME TO MRS. COOK'S CLASS PAGE!
!

Welcome back to our Summer term - I hope you have all had a wonderful time and enjoyed a super Easter break. Fingers crossed for some warmer weather this term so we can enjoy being outside more.
I know we are going to continue to be an AMAZING team this term working together and helping each other reach their full potential :)
This is the last term at Saughall ALl Saints for our year 6s and I know we can all make it BRILLIANT for them. We need to give them lots of encouragement and support as they head into the final stretch before their SATs in May. We wish them ALL the best of luck and I know they are going to be fantastic!

As year 5/6 children I will continue to be looking to you to be our fantastic role models for the school. Please make sure that you are ALWAYS wearing your badge with pride, whether in class, in the playground, walking down the corridor or when you are out and about on sporting events or school trips.

We can hopefully continue with some more amazing sporting achievements and we can look forward to many more sporting opportunities........ football, outdoor athletics, cross country, rounders, cricket and tennis!

Our Learning in the Summer term......
Our Summer Term Topic ~ Victorian Saughall - A Local Study...
If any of you have any information about our village from this period of history, please bring it in to school so we can share it with the rest of the class.

Design & Technology
Last year the year 6s had fun designing and making their own animal.

In Maths we will be focussing on number work, data handling and more work on shape and measures.
We will also be continuing with our BIG FOCUS on learning ALL your times tables with speed and accuracy......... Can you make the 'Times Table Champion' board?

LITERACY ~
Year 6 - Mr Preston - More work focussed on grammar, reading and different non fiction genres.
Keep up the hard work and remember all your writing will be used to help your teachers assess your level for the end of year 6.

Year 5 - Mrs Cook and Mr Lowe - We will begin by continuing with our Persuasive writing unit.
We will then be looking at a whole class novel - 'Street Child' This is set in Victorian times so we can link our learning with our topic work.

PE ~ As always, you need to bring your PE kit into school on a Monday and take it home on a Friday to be washed!!! We will be doing outdoor PE looking at tennis, rounders, cricket and 'athletics'
This is just a brief idea of some of the things we will be getting upto this term. Look out for updates on our homepage and look out for the Summer term newsletter which will inform you and your parents of any important dates and other information for the term!

As always, I look forward to teaching you all, and all I ask is that you always come to school fully refreshed and ready to learn!!!!!
