Homework: Homework will be given out on a Thursday and must be returned to school on a Monday. I have attached a homework guidance sheet to the front cover of every homework book. Please help your child to take care of the book.
Reading: We regularly read with the children twice a week in Guided Reading sessions as well as daily as a class. There is a sheet in your child’s reading folder of helpful hints and how to get the best from your child when you are reading at home. It is very important that you read it and read with your child everyday after school or later in the evening for 10 minutes. All our reading books come in a set and if a child loses one, a payment of £20 will be needed to replace a new set we cannot purchase individual books. It is a good idea to have a place in your home where the reading book is kept, when it is not being read. Please remember to bring your child's reading folder in every day so we can change books and to sign or comment when your child has read with you.
PE All the children will require a pair of blue shorts and a red tee shirt. Our PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. However this regularly changes! To ensure that all children have their P.E kits for P.E they can leave their bags in the cloakroom on their pegs until half term when we will send it home to be washed.
Water bottles The children need to have access to water all day. If your child prefers to have a water bottle to drink from they can be purchased from the office. It is parent’s responsibility to collect water bottles from the classroom/outside and take them home to be washed daily.
Snack Money The children in reception have a snack mid-morning that is prepared by our Teaching Assistants. Snack money is £1.25 a week and must be paid at the beginning of every week and it must be put in an envelope and clearly marked with your child’s name. Please do not hand in loose money as it may get lost or mixed up.
We hope you enjoyed our family mornings last term. If you have any questions, please ask.
This term we are looking at the story of 'The Naughty Bus.' The bus has lots of adventures both in the day and at night. Who knows what it will get up to and what havoc will be caused!!!
