School Activities
The following activities form part of the life of our school.
a) Concerts for public performances. These are linked with music and drama in the classroom and are held once or twice a year.
b) Sporting events. The school enters teams for several inter-school events during the year, including football, swimming, netball, rounders, athletics and other events, which may be arranged from time to time. There may be additional practices after school. We also hold an annual School "Sports Day."
c) Visits to places of educational and aesthetic interest are made during the year. These include visits around the village and day excursions, in 2006/7 trips to Liverpool Museum, Salford Museum, Chester, Quarry Bank Mill museum and Octagon Theatre were organised.
d) When the opportunity arises, and when related to schoolwork, we also enter a number of competitions. The Year 6 enters the “Turton School Quiz Kids”. And “Home Safety Quiz”.
