The service will offer advisory support to schools in reference to specific issues or cases. Advisory support may lead to ‘in school’ support.
‘In school’ support
This includes, collection of information, observation, identification of need and the development of a support plan based upon the outcome of debrief sessions.
A support plan may include:
*Contributing to School Group/Whole School discussions on Behaviour Policy.
*Bespoke INSET on Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
*Behaviour strategy support for school staff, including Midday Assistants.
*Behaviour strategy support for individual teachers and teaching assistants with Outreach Teaching Assistant supporting in class.
*Outreach staff working with children e.g. Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Circle of Friends, Peer Mediation, Anger Management.
*Outreach staff attending meetings e.g. multi-agency, reviews with parents.
*School staff visiting Gilbrook for a general look around and explanation of procedures and/or observation of teaching.
*Assessment e.g. Boxall Profile, Colour Screening for perception, Rickter Scale.
*Restorative Justice conference facilitation
Schools refer to the service using the Request for Support Form available from the school and on the VLE.
Evaluation of Service
Schools are required to evaluate the service that has been delivered for their school and the impact it has made through evaluation questionnaires. This data will be used to inform our working practice.
