We have had a busy and exciting Autumn Term at Healey. In September Mrs Johnson and Mrs Ross joined the staff and were quickly welcomed by children, staff, parents and governors into life at Healey. Our new Reception children have settled well and are enjoying life at school. Children have worked hard and have made good progress over the term. Lots of exciting and interesting learning has been occurring in all classes.

We have been extremely sporty! Lots of new clubs started in the Autumn Term and have been popular and successful, these include netball, football, badminton, basketball and athletics! All children have worked hard and learnt new skills. We have had cross country success at the Rochdale School Games and played netball and football matches.

We have raised lots of money for charity. £146 at the McMillan Coffee Morning, £298.45 for Children in Need and £600.25 at the Hallowe’en Disco. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and supporting these events.

December is now here and the fabulous Christmas performances were enjoyed by children and parents. Thank you to all staff who worked hard to put the performances together, all the children who performed magnificently and all parents who supported with costumes and came to watch the shows. Next week the festivities continue with Christmas parties and the Y5 and Y6 carol concert on Friday 20th December 2013, in school, at 2.15pm.

School closes for the Christmas holiday on Friday 20th December and reopens on Monday 6th January 2014. Dinner money for the Spring half term (until Friday 14th February) is £57 per child.

We wish all our families a very merry and peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
