Introduction to the Upton Curriculum
At Upton, we offer a broad range of subjects for every student and follow the National Curriculum as required. It is important that students experience a balanced curriculum that offers interest, enjoyment, challenge and opportunities to learn new skills: children and young people will thrive if they are fully engaged and part of their learning. The teaching staff embraces new educational initiatives and technologies, blending these with what they already know works well in the classroom. From what our students and parents tell us, and through consistently good examination results, we are confident that we have an appropriate mix of traditional and vocational elements to the curriculum.
Curriculum review is an on-going process and an essential part of keeping student entitlement up-to-date, and most of all, relevant to the 21st century. As a Specialist Humanities college we aim to engender further enquiry, curiosity and understanding of different cultures from around the world with a view to making our students global citizens.
