This is what we are doing in our Spring Term...
Literacy
We are continuing with our Literacy scheme this term. It is called Read Write Inc and is a new, fun and exciting way of learning phonics
Numeracy
We are learning about weight, length, shape and space, counting on and back in tens, adding, taking away, halves and quarters in our numeracy lessons this term.
Music
We will be investigating beat, rhythm and pitch in music, using a variety of instruments in our music lessons this term.
RE
We will be learning all about Chinese New Year and stories that Jesus told in our RE sessions this term.
Topic
Our topic this half term is all about 'Our Local Park'. We will be looking at;
Geography and History of Birkenhead Park,
Habitats, Life Cycles and Plants,
Designing and making houses and playgrounds.
P.E.
We do PE each Thursday afternoon. PLease make sure your childs PE kit is in school for this session each week. This half term we will be doing some multiskills games in our lessons.
Homework will be given out every Friday. Please can it be returned by the following Thursday so I can put the new homework in.

Drinking Water
Children in Year 1 need to bring a drinking bottle in each day. Please provide any plastic bottle, with your child's name on it, filled with water only, not juice. Thank you.
