Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE)
At Stanley School we cover a range of activities within PSHE -feeling and emotions, Sex and Relationship Education (SRE), Drug Education (DE) and Healthy Eating. Last year we introduced SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) which promotes the social and emotional skills that underpin learning and it ties in very well with the PSHE curriculum.

At KS2 we  use Protective Behaviours to learn about emotions and how thet affect our bodies. The photo shows how our body tells us we are feeling frightened -jelly legs, sweaty palms etc.
We learn what to do in an emergency and practise calling 999 -and when it is safe to give out our address.

In Drug Education we learn how to keep safe around cleaning agents and medicine. It is important to know who can and can't give us medicines. At KS2 we learn about the dangers of alcohol and tobacco. Desmond and Lulu, our resident dolls, joined class 8 to discuss Desmond's smoking habits. They told him about the dangers of smoking and he stopped straight away!
