Bike It Breakfast for World Book Day was a great success with over 100 bikes being pedalled onto the playground!  We all enjoyed book themed food and drink and Mrs Palmer's storytime was fabulous!

Don't forget our Wheelie Walkie Wednesdays!!  Get on your bikes and ride to school!

LEARN TO CYCLE!!!
Well done to our children who learned to ride last year!  You are superstars!!
If there are any children in Year 3 or above who cannot ride and would like to learn please see Mrs Burden or Miss Gawne.

Remember stay healthy - ride as often as you can!
stay safe - make sure you are bright and
                           reflective on these darker
                           mornings!

Irby does Sport Relief!
We had a lot of fun on Sport Relief day.  Every class went for a Sport Relief walk... KS1 and 2 went to the woods!

We had a visit from a very impressive juggler!

Year 6 were challenged to a series of Tag Rugby matches against the staff.... The staff were victorious!!

We can't forget the reason we took part in all of these exciting events though... to raise money for Sport Relief.  We learnt about water in Africa and how children have to walk for miles to get it and then it is dirty and not at all nice to drink.  We have raised money to help these people get clean water.

Year 6 High 5 Tournament.
Huge congratulations to the Year Six High-5 Netball team who came joint first in a High-5 tournament at Pensby Sports College. They demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship and Miss Finn and Mrs Burden were extremely proud of the way they represented the school. Well done Year 6!

Year 2 Football Tournament.
A team of Year 2s visited the Joseph Paxton Campus and played 6 other schools from around the Wirral.  All the children played well, worked hard as a team and were a credit to our school!  Miss Gawne was very proud of them.

WORLD CUP DAY 2010!!
World Cup Day was a great success with every child in the school participating in a series of matches, so exciting it rivalled South Africa's tournament!  The team work and support was excellent!  Every team played several games in the group stages and these were followed by semi-finals and finals for Infant and Junior teams.  In KS1 Germany and Greece went through to their nerve-tingling final.  KS2 saw Italy and Argentina battling it out in their final.
