Thes are exciting times for the modern languages department! Following the introduction of Spanish onto the curriculum three years ago, it has now reached key stage four, with both a GCSE and an ASDAN Languages course available. In addition, we are offering all three languages at both AS and A2. We are thrilled to have enthused our linguists to the extent that several are now pursuing languages at university. We offer our Year 7 students the opportunity to study all three languages on a carousel basis, with the choice of which language to study thereafter. This is remaining a popular curriculum structure with our students. The Spanish Exchange will start this year and we are very excited to offer our students yet another opportunity to develop their cultural awarenes and see languages in action.
Rest assured, amidst all this change, our very popular French and German Exchanges will continue to run, along with our Key Stage 3 trip to Picardie. For details of the German Exchange (Year 9) see Miss Bates; for details of the Spanish Exchange (Year 9) see Miss Parry; for details of the French Exchange (Year 10) see Mr Cador and for the Picardie trip (Years 7-9), see Miss Cairns; for details on work experience in France, Germany or Spain (BL6 students only), see Miss Bentley.
