Music

As part of Performing Arts at The Fallibroome Academy, Music is a lively and energetic department. From Year 7 to Sixth Form we offer curriculum Music alongside an extensive enrichment programme. Music is a creative subject, developing skills of performance, composition, listening and analysis. We aim to encourage students to fulfil their potential by working hard in lessons and rehearsals. As a department we have regular performances to celebrate the talent of Fallibroome students. See the What's On (PDF) guide for more information on these events.

At Key Stage 3 we believe it is important for students to experience a range of musical styles. We use the model of Musical Futures and software such as Sequel and Cubase to access engaging repertoire that challenges students to explore music further. Our KS3 curriculum combines the skills of performance, composition, listening   appraising with strands of PLTS.

Interested in taking it further? We have a large number of students at Fallibroome who choose to take Music at GCSE level, AS level and A2 level. From 'Moby' to 'Mahler' students extend their musical skills to an advanced level. Many students continue to study Music at University or Music College. For more information on curriculum Music, extra-curricular activities or staff details, please see the relevant web pages or e-mail Miss H Wallis (Director of Teaching and Learning: Music).
