Welcome to the Drama Department here at The Fallibroome Academy! From Year 7 right through to the Sixth Form we offer curriculum Drama and Theatre Studies alongside an extensive enrichment and extra-curricular programme of clubs, workshops and theatre visits. Drama is a creative subject, developing skills in performance, communication, presentation, technical aspects, direction, design and analysis. We aim to encourage students to fulfil their potential by working hard in lessons and rehearsals. As a department we have regular performances to celebrate the talent of Fallibroome students. See the What's On Guide (PDF) for more information on these events.
At Key Stage 3 we believe it is important for students to experience a range of drama skills and explore a variety of topics. Our KS3 curriculum combines the skills of Making, Performing and Responding with strands of PLTS.
Whether you are a budding actor, director or, theatre technician or intending to follow a career where empathy, communication and presentation skills will be important, you might be interested in taking the subject further at the end of Year 9. We have a large number of students at Fallibroome who choose to take Drama at GCSE level, and at AS level and A2 level. Many students continue to study Drama / Theatre at University or drama school, and it is a well-respected qualification in terms of the transferable skills it develops. For more information on curriculum Drama and Theatre Studies, extra-curricular activities or staff details, please see the relevant Uniservity pages or e-mail Mrs A Munro (Director of Teaching and Learning: Drama).
