Music Centres Wirral Schools' Music Service runs two Saturday morning music centres which are open to all young musicians. Music Centres are aimed at children and young people who are beginners on their instruments and have learned to play 5 notes, through to children playing at Grade 2/3 standard. All young musicians are welcome at our music centres. Children and young people who learn with Wirral Schools' Music Service through their school can access music centres free of charge. For all other young musicians, membership costs just £20 per term. Please use the links on the left hand side for detailed information about each of our music centres. Progression Routes: Music Centres and Ensembles The Music Centres and Ensembles run by Wirral Schools' Music Service are part of our planned progression routes for children and young people. Saturday Morning Music Centres Saturday morning music centres are for everyone, even if you've just started playing your instrument. Our centres have beginner groups for strings, brass and woodwind, junior ensembles, a choir and theory tuition. North Wirral Centre for Young Musicians South Wirral Centre for Young Musicians Every Saturday in term time 9.30am - 12 noon Every Saturday in term time 9.30am - 12 noon @ Wallasey School @ Wirral Grammar School for Girls Intermediate Ensembles When you have passed your Grade 3 exam (or you can play to Grade 3 standard) you can come to our intermediate ensembles. The intermediate groups perform in concerts across Wirral. Wirral Schools' Intermediate Orchestra Sounds!Central Young Voices (all abilities) Every Saturday in term time 9.30am - 11.30am Every Thursday in term time 6.30pm - 8pm @ Wallasey School @ Joseph Paxton Campus Senior Ensembles When you have passed your Grade 5 exam (or you can play to Grade 5 standard) you can come to our senior ensembles. The senior groups perform in concerts across Wirral, compete in national competitions and even tour around the world!
