School Council

Our school council meet to discuss issues that affect our school.
We represent our classes views and represent Dean Oaks at the Wilmslow School Council meetings.
Since January two new members joined our School Council. They are our Anti-bullying Ambassadors for Dean Oaks.
Here we are!

Over the past few months we have been looking at different strategies of improving our school.

Already this year we have organised our School Charity Week and chosen to support the NSPCC with sponsored sports activities.

The sports equipment we chose using the Tesco vouchers has arrived in school and is being used in PE lessons and at playtimes. The equipment included new balls, skipping ropes, hoops and target boards.

We have been coming up with ideas on how to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and submitted our ideas to Wilmslow Town Council. Two of our School Council Representatives met with Wilmslow Town Council to discuss issues involving our local area including parking around our school and the playground facilities available in the area.

In the Spring Term we were trained by the School Council UK. They helped us develop our communication and listening skills and discover what qualities make a good School Councillor. We even practised chairing meetings.

We have been actively promoting e-safety and anti cyber bullying.
