This term in Literacy we will be looking at what makes us a 'good writer' in the Juniors.
Vocabulary – encouraging the use of unusual and interesting words and phrases.
Connectives – joining ideas with words that are more exciting than just ‘and’ or ‘then’.
Openers – starting a piece of writing or a paragraph well.
Punctuation – using the right punctuation, such as exclamation marks for effect.
This term we will be starting to look at mental methods to help us solve calculations more quickly. We will also be starting to look at our Times Tables. Check out these website games - they are all topics we will need to work on this year!
Click on each of the links above to find out more about the topic!
Our topic for the Autumn Term is THE ROMANS! Click on the Roman Soldier to learn about Roman Life!
This term, Year 3 will start SWIMMING LESSONS which will run until Christmas!
We will be having a 'dry week' before we go Swimming in which the children will get to meet our Instructors informally in class.
They will learn exactly how our lessons will be organised and receive plenty of reassurance for any concerns they might have.
Details about what they will be permitted to wear in the pool and what to bring to school on 'swimming days' will be sent home very shortly.
Will be changed on the day that your child brings their book back into school, provided that: 1) They have a signed reading record confirming the book is finished, and 2) Your child hands their book to Mrs Algar during morning registration!
HOMEWORK & SPELLINGS
These are sent home each week on a Thursday. They are due back on the following Tuesday.
