English	Read, Write, Inc. Phonics Programme.  Building sentences orally, and writing sentences with full stops and capital letters.  Question marks and exclamation marks. Talk for Writing-developing vocabulary and clear sentences orally as an aid to writing. Improving fluency at reading and answering questions about what we have read.  Handwriting-improving accuracy of single letters.
Maths	Counting on/back from any number to 100. Identifying odd and even numbers. Extend number sequences.  Counting in 1’s, 2s, 5s and 10’s.  Addition subtraction-written and mental methods. Know numbers facts to 20 e.g. all numbers to 20.  Know doubles up to and beyond 10.  Know o’clock and half past on an analogue and digital clock. Name & describe the properties of simple 2d and 3d shapes.
Science	Forces- What is a force?  What can a force do?  Identifying pushes and pulls. Sound-Loud and quiet sounds.
Design Technology	Design and make a perch for a parrot.
Information Technology	Developing keyboard skills.
History	Traditions of Christmas.
Geography	Exploring a treasure island for a pirate.  Looking at geographical language-island, coast, bay, forest etc. Map co-ordinates.  Treasure Hunt-learning and using geographical language.
Art	Drawing using crayons, pastels and charcoal.  Painting using large and small brushes, and colour mixing. Printing repeating patterns.  Collage, including wax resists, tie-dyeing and fabric crayons.  3d art-clay and junk materials.
Music	Long and short rhythms. Loud/quiet using a variety of musical instruments. Learning hymns for Class Mass.  Learning pirate songs. Songs for the Nativity.
P.E.	Dance – simple sequences individually and in pairs. Gymnastics – movement using apparatus, walking, running, rolling – good gymnastic stance. Games-developing ball skills and playing ball games.
