***Police warning to lock up your valuables***

Lancashire police have launched a new campaign Operation Boudicca to keep homes and cars safe.

Around 90 per cent of thefts of valuables from homes and cars occur when the property or vehicle has been left insecure.

Now police are warning that taking a few minutes to check that home and car doors and windows are securely locked and that any items of value are not visible to opportunist thieves peering in. Valuable items should always be removed from cars.

Police officers will be handing out crime prevention leaflets and advice at Tesco, Asda, Blackburn Mall, the Vue cinema and Blackburn indoor Market
