Welcome everyone to the class!
Our Topic this half term is:
Why am I Special?
Stories with familiar settings are our main focus and we will be reading Funny Bones and Six Dinner Sid to help us with our writing of our own stories and poems.
We will be studying the skeleton to see how we are made and comparing ourselves to other people. Also, we will talk about our pets and say why they are special.
We will be using puppets for role play then looking at how they are made and what materials are used to put them together. After this, we will be designing our own puppets and making them out of fabrics using sewing and glueing to join them.
Our unit this term is Introduction to the Bible. We will be listening to stories from this special book and finding out how Christians use this book to help guide them through their lives.
In gymnastics, each Tuesday, we will have a visitor in to show us some new techniques to help us stretch, curl and move in different ways. Games takes place on Friday afternoon outside if the weather is kind and we will be practising throwing and catching skills.
Remember that each day your child needs to bring their book bag with their reading book and reading record book so that it can filled in each time they read to an adult in school.
They can change their reading book any day once
it has been read at home.
The children will have a chance to earn a number of Reading Certificates for reading at home and we have now created a 'Rapid Readers' board to celebrate those children who have read more than 50, 75, 100 and 150 times at home
which is some achievement.
