Within Media at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy, pupils learn about the many varied roles and techniques within the sector. They are then able to use this knowledge in a practical way, via print or film production. Pupils have the opportunity to choose the subject as one of their options in Year 8, gaining a BTEC qualification at the end. Pupils are encouraged to drive their own learning and are supported by experienced and committed teaching and support staff.
The Academy’s sixth form centre provides students with the option of choosing Film Studies as an A Level course. This course falls within the remit of the Media department and students learn about the techniques of film production as well as the industry as a whole.
