Irby Primary

COMING SOON
The school VLE will be moving to a new site from early June. Check out www.irbyprimary.org.

As you are aware, Ofsted visited the school before Easter. Mr Johnson, Lead Inspector, described our school as “resoundingly good”. He was very pleased to observe “strong teaching” and children enjoying their lessons.  He was particularly impressed with the behaviour and safety of our children and was pleased to see very good progress right the way through school.

We hope you are as delighted as we are with the findings, especially as the criteria within the new framework is far more stringent than in the past. A letter of congratulations from Wirral’s Acting Director of Children’s Services stated: “In reading the report, the judgements indicate that the school is well on the way to becoming outstanding in all areas”.

We are celebrating the successes and looking forward to working on the constructive comments to ensure your children continue to have the best possible education and experiences in our school family.

WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER

We would like to welcome you and your family to Irby Primary School's VLE.  We hope this site provides you with an insight into life at our happy School where we Inspire Pupils Successfully.

Academic excellence is highly valued and we believe that education, whether at home or school, is the key to a child’s future. We believe education is broader than academic study. It involves:

 · learning and caring about yourself and the people around you

 · good manners

 · feeling secure

 · growing in self confidence

 · living and working happily

 · having a positive attitude to life.

We provide a friendly, caring, calm atmosphere where we can deliver the curriculum, through high quality teaching and a stimulating learning environment, so that the children achieve the highest possible standards in all areas of school life. A varied programme of extra curricular activities nurtures the whole child and inspires him or her to find and develop skills and talents.

The building and grounds are spacious which enables us to provide countless opportunities for focused teaching in small groups, exciting and stimulating activities and the use of the latest technology, which prepares our children for successful Secondary Education. Our numbers are small enough to ensure excellent pastoral care and individual attention and this is crucial to the ethos of the school.

Our children learn to respect and care for others, to develop a love of learning, a desire to succeed and are able to discover what is special about them. They are proud of their achievements and proud of our school.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school family. If you require information regarding school admissions click on websites, Wirral Learning Grid and then Admissions.
