Through active partnership we aim to develop the children of Portland in a way that cares for their needs as individuals and co-operative groups. We strive to reach high standards in learning, thinking skills and personal growth. The details below outline how the pupil premium is allocated. We are anticipating the achievement of the following targets with the support of the Pupil Premium:

Reading Recovery Specialist Teacher: £18,725
Additional Speech and Language Therapy: £3,365
Specialist English Lesson Support (small group and individual) £16,644
Further Curriculum Support: £6,322
One-to-One Reading Service: £2,500
Additional Support for English Skills (delivered by Mr. Heywood, a Qualified and Experienced Teacher): £1,802
Specialist Music Provision: £4,160
Enrichment trips to support learning: £3,400
Phonics resources: £3,000
Maintainence of single age classes: £18,600
Total: £78,518
The Pupil Premium for 2011/12 had an excellent impact as Keystages 1 and 2 results exceeded set targets.
