A couple of sporting achievements to update parents on, from competitions that the children have competed in over the last couple of weeks.
Just before Half Term, the Year 2/3 children competed in a Football Festival at Calveley Primary School. A terrific performance in the group stages took us through to the semi-finals where we just lost out to Eaton 1-0, with a last-minute goal. However, in the third-place play-off we beat Bunbury to complete an excellent afternoons effort.
This week the Year 5/6 children took part in a Hockey Festival at Deeside Ramblers. From the 4 group games we played, we won 1, drew 1 and lost 2 - finishing third overall in our group of 5 schools. This was a very competitive tournament this year, as many of the big schools from Chester had been invited along. All children that took part should be proud of their efforts.
A final total of money raised from Sport Relief will be announced next week - look out for some excellent news. Also, look out for letters going out on Monday inviting all children in Key Stage 2 along to the Cross Country Competition at Tarporley High School on Thursday April 26th.
