Well done to the boys football team who finished runners-up in the Kelsall Gala Football Competition held on Saturday afternoon.
After finishing third in the group stages, we progressed through to a quarter final against St Bede's Primary School. A late winner from Will Scott set up a semi-final against hot-favourites Kelsall.
An early Jack Wilkinson goal had us infront, before a late equaliser from Kelsall. No goals were scored in extra time meaning that the tie was decided on penalties. Tom Finn scored the deciding penalty in sudden-death to send Utkinton through to the final.
Despite a spirited effort in the final, Utkinton were defeated 2-0 by Tarporley. A fantastic achievement for our small school - well done to all the boys that took part.
As an additional, the girls took part in their own tournament. After winning 2 and losing 2 games, they ended up finishing third overall in their league - another great effort.
