School Ski Course 2012
The annual school ski course has just returned from an excellent week in the Ziller Valley in Austria.  Just over forty students enjoyed a fantastic week skiing in unbelievable end of season conditions.  Over the course of the week the students learnt to ski on fresh powder, hard packed snow, freshly pisted runs and all this in a variety of weather that ranged from dense fog to glorious sunshine.

The local ski school provided excellent instruction and the progress made by students across the ability range was temendous.  GCSE PE students were able to demonstrate skills at A* level, while those who are intending to follow PE through to A level were able to log performances that mean they already have evidence for top grades.

There were bumps and bruises, with three girls and and two boys requiring visits to the doctor, but despite this spirits were very high as we completed an excellent week.

Thanks are due to the staff who gave up holiday time to make the trip possible - Mssrs Green, Cross, Godson and Murray, and Mrs Waites, and star pupil Miss Bradley.  A very special thank you is due to Mr Rhodes who organised the trip, did all the paperwork and ararnged everything but then stayed at home to help look after the newly born Huey Rhodes (age two months).

The students worked hard , made excellent progress and were great company.  Well done all.
Mr Murray
