Caring for Ourselves, Other People and Our Environment

Kingsmead Primary School is a place where each individual is inspired with a love of learning, enabling everyone to achieve well and be proud of their success.  Each individual is valued and respected and we care for ourselves, other people and our environment.

  • We inspire a love of learning, enabling everyone to achieve and be proud of their successes throughout their life
  • Each individual is valued and respected, embracing their diversity
  • We recognise our responsibilities to each other and to our global neighbours
  • Children experience and create awe and wonder through understanding of the natural and cultural world, appreciating that while only one species among many our actions affect the whole future of our planet

Every child matters at Kingsmead, we aim to:~

Enjoy and achieve high standards through becoming literate, numerate and independent learners;

Stay safe through creating a stimulating physical and emotional environment where everyone feels and is safe and secure with all included;

Make a positive contribution through placing teamwork at the heart of the school’s development, fostering attitudes of pride, self esteem and motivation resulting in mutual trust and cooperation;

Be healthy through supporting our school community to make healthy, ethical and sustainable life choices;

Achieve economic wellbeing by wanting for less, appreciating more and so becoming responsible and considerate citizens.

We are proud to be the first school in Cheshire to have been designed and built around an ethos of sustainability and care for our environment.

We try to minimize our environmental footprint, be considerate members of our community and thoughtful citizens of our planet.  Check out Our Mission Statement/Caring for Our Environment.  You can find Eco-Group pages and out weekly travel target, set by children on the Eco-Group.

For us at Kingsmead, sustainability includes our curriculum and learning, not only in terms about the environment and our impact on our planet but also sustaining:
  • a love of learning and interest in the world beyond the classroom
  • positive attitudes, high achievement and motivation
  • a broad curriculum, valuing all areas of learning, including those not so easily measured
  • a curriculum which promotes depth in understanding across all areas of learning: academic, naturalistic, creative, physical, personal and social
  • high standards achieved through learning being relevant and supporting intrinsic motivation, supporting children in developing into the life long learners they will need to be to live and work successfully in the C21st
  • an understanding of our strengths and weaknesses and commitment to continuous improvement through seeking the views of stakeholders and accreditation of organizations outside the school (at the bottom of this page you will see some of the kitemarks and awards we have achieved since opening)
