English
Reading Paper - A comprehesion task which requires students to read a text and and answer questions to show understanding.  To revise, students should read as many different non-fiction texts as possible and consider how language is used for effect.
  
Writing Paper - A written task which will check students' interest and written accuracy.  To prepare students can revise and practise using different sentence structures, a variety of punctuation and interesting vocabulary. 
  
French
Modules 1-4 with particular focus on:
  • Food and Drink
  • Shopping (for food)
  • Hobbies
  • TV programmes
  • The past tense (passe compose)
  • The verbs devoir, pouvoir and voulvoir
  • Opinions
  
Geography
Rainforest:  Climate, vegetation and animals, native people, problems of developing the rainforest.
 
Italy:  The North Italian Plain
 
Being British:  Migration - factors to cause people to move to the UK and the impact migration has in the UK.
  
German
Modules 1-4 with particular focus on:
  • School subjects.
  • Describing yourself and others.
  • Hobbies and free time activities.
  • Family and pets.
  • Opinions and adjectives. 
History
Revision Topics
  • The English Civil War.
  • The Industrial Revolution:
    • Transport.
    • Working conditions.
    • Electoral reform.
    • Living conditions.
Maths
All year 8 pupils will sit an appropriately levelled Examination consisting of:
  • A 1 hour Non-calculator paper.
  • And a 1 hour Calculator paper.
The papers will assess ALL topics covered throughout KS3 and pupils should focus their revision on the levels that they will be tested.  We also recommend that pupils access their MyMaths accounts and try the various Booster Packs and Online worksheets to help to guide them through each level.
 
These assessments will provide each teacher with further evidence to support their Teacher Assessed 'End of key Stage 3' level that will be submitted.
  
PE
There will be no PE exams.
 
RE
Christianity:
 
Including reasons for and against belief in God, the sacraments, the concept of the Trinity.
 
  
Science
Students need to revise the following chapters/topics from their books:
  • Staying alive - Chapter 1
  • What things are made of - Chapter 3
  • Be reactive - Chapter 4
  • How things move - Chapter 5
