Many pupils have been taking part in activites out of school. We went to the University of Bolton to take part in some workshops that were being run by some of the university students and lecturers. First we all had a lesson in Tai-Chi (Myself and Miss Wood included!). This was followed by art, creative writing and drama workshops with students from other schools in and around Bolton.
We are also going to compete against other schools, and hopefully win (for the third year in a row) the Bolton Book Award quiz.
On Friday 26th June we are attending a Q&A session at the University of Bolton. Six of the seven authors will be there and pupils can ask their favourite authors lots of questions. Apparantly Chris Bradford (author of Young Samurai) is going to do a samurai sword demonstration.
This year many year 7 & 8 pupils entered both the writing and the alternative book cover competitions. We have selected the best entries from each class that took part and they have all been sent off to the university to be judged against entries from other schools. The best ones from our school will be awarded with a prize and house points.
Watch this space for the results.
