On Wednesday afternoon there was great excitement in the classrooms as the first egg began to crack. If we sat really quietly we could even hear the chick cheeping.
After about ten minutes the crack widened and the chick began to appear.
Out at last! Looks like another one is on the way.
"Phew, it's hard work being born! Only one hour old and I'm worn out already!"
After a few hours the chicks were ready to be transferred to the brooder.
Almost one day old and fluffing up nicely.
Day 2.......... And getting hungry.
Very hungry indeed!
One week old and look how we have grown!
Our new bigger and better home.
