Requests for attendance at Mayoral events
Please can I inform you that if you would like to request attendance of the Mayor at an event, that requests should be received by Mayoral staff at least 10 working days before the event concerned.
This enables sufficient time to consult the Mayor on the booking, to gauge availability and make appropriate staffing arrangements.

There have been recent occasions where the Mayor has been invited at short notice and this has caused some difficulties in arranging the attendance for the Mayor / and associated staffing arrangements.

When this occurs it can result in the booking regretfully having to be declined.

Obviously, there are some exceptional times when late notice cannot be helped and the Mayoral Team will do what they can in support of the Mayor to review his bookings and arrangements, but generally, as outlined above, it would be much appreciated if event organisers could adhere to the minimum of 10 working days notice as outlined above, as far as is reasonably practicable.   The Mayor's Office can be contacted by phone on 01254 585229 or by e-mail at'

Thanks for your support.

SIMS and Finance Summer 2012 upgrade

The SIMS and Finance Summer 2012 upgrade has been released by Capita and is undergoing our usual testing.

On completion of our testing,  schools that subscribe to the Remote Upgrade Service will be contacted to arrange for a convenient time and date for the upgrade to be run.

For schools that do not subscribe to the Remote Upgrade Service, we will advise you when the guidance notes on running the upgrade will be made available on our website.

Since the upgrade contains enhanced reporting for Exams Results we expect to make it available to secondary schools by the end of term.

All schools will require the upgrade in order to complete the termly School Census on 4th October and we therefore expect to make the upgrade available to all other schools at the beginning of the new term in September.

Please note following message from the Westfield Centre regarding actions required following the Spring Upgrade:

EYFS\Key Stage 2012 - Update

Capita has reported there were some minor faults on AMPARK 7.144 released in the SIMS Spring upgrade.  As a result Capita has released a revised AMPARK folder containing updates to the following:

·         Keystage 1 Wizard

·         Keystage 2 Wizard

·         Keystage 2 Template

·         Average point Score Template

Full details of the changes can be found by clicking on the following link:

Schools will need to re-import the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Wizards in to SIMS .net, any data that has already been entered will be retained and no re-submissions will be required.

NOTE:  The updated Key Stage 1 wizard now contains the School Comparative report.

The attached document gives information on the dates for submitting EYFS and Key Stage entries and also contains a link to the Westfield Centre website where a copy of the guidance notes is available.  Please note paper copies of the guidance notes will not be sent out to schools.

If any schools wish to attend training on the Key Stage data collection course details and booking form is also attached.
