The Berkeley Primary School

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the website of The Berkeley School. We hope that by reading through the information and having a look through the photos you will be able to find out more about us. Do have a look at the information section where you will find recent newsletters and our prospectus. Scroll down to links and find out about our Pre-School Department. Check what our children are learning about through the Classes section. Learn more about social events organised by out PTA by clicking on Friends of Berkeley.

Our school has been open since 1969 and we are very proud of the children here at the moment and those who have passed through. Our aim is to take the best possible care of them so that they can thrive in a secure and comfortable environment. Once they are settled in our care we provide an education which is exciting and inspirational. We give a wide range of trips, residentials, visitors, crafts, performances and all types of practical learning to make sure that The Berkeley experience is a memorable and individual one. We ensure that this education is accessible to children with all levels of ability. At the same time we are able to focus on the academic and formal side so that our pupils are well prepared for the rigours of secondary school.

We provide before and after-school care and a holiday club on our site through The Willows which is situated on the edge of the school field. Children can attend the Willows from two years of age and we work closely with this Pre-School Department so that transition into school is smooth.

We always have an exciting selection of After-School Clubs at The Berkeley so your child can choose from a wide range which may include Judo, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Orchestra, Choir, Football, Art Club and many others.

We pride ourselves on our ‘open door policy’ and welcome parents into our school on many occasions. Parents are our partners in children’s learning and our plans for the new school year will always involve parent workshops, class assemblies, parent’s evenings and a range of social events organised by Friends of Berkeley. We really appreciate the involvement of parents in our school community.

If you are interested in finding out more about our school please contact us. You are very welcome to come and visit us, talk to me, have a walk round the classrooms and ask any questions you may have,

Yours sincerely,
