We have reached the end of another enjoyable and very busy year.

Mrs Mills
... arrived in January as Deputy Headteacher and not long after arriving, went on to spend several months being Acting Headteacher!
The Pupils, Staff, Governors and Parents/Carers were all very supportive.

Mrs Mills says a big thankyou to everyone!

Ms Hinchliffe
...
has made an amazing recovery, and is back to work, enjoying every moment!  We are all really pleased to see her back in work.

WELCOME BACK!

Julia and Maria
... have retired.  We are going to miss them both!!
They have both asked to be on our volunteer list though.
They plan to come back and watch our Performances as well as help out with any big events.  We will have to make sure we have lots of big events, then we won't miss them at all!

Claire
... has left to have a rest before she has her beautiful baby.  We know the baby is beautiful because we have seen all of the scan photos!
We will miss you Claire.  Have a lovely rest.
We can't wait to see the baby!  Come back and visit when you can.

Other News
  • Thanks to the hard work and dedication of staff, lead by ICT leads, Mrs Karling and Mrs Patchitt, Dorin Park School has been awarded the prestigious ICT Mark, in recognition of  how "ICT is embedded in school vision in a particularly mature and consistent way".  (click here to see the press release)
  • When September arrives we will welcome many new faces.  We have pupils joining us in Primary, Seniors and Sixth form.  Some of them have been to visit and some have already joined their new group, several times, to try out their new timetable.  We can't wait for them all to join us.
  • Pupils Records of Achievements were sent home this term.  Staff/Parents/Carers were very proud of the variety of achievements mentioned in them.  Ms Hinchliffe read them all and reported feeling very pleased, and proud, to see all the work that had been completed during the year.
  • We have had a very successful Parents Evening.  Parents/Carers had chats with Staff and heard all the wonderful reports about their sons/duaghters.  Thanks goes to all staff and the external agencies for supporting this event.
  • Our Performing Arts events have been very exciting, and indeed, very popular this year.  Our last show was 'standing room only'.  Pupils and Staff all worked really hard to put on these events and certainly deserve the applause they receive at the end of the shows.  Well done!
  • We have had several opportunities to ask Parents/Carers their opinions this year.  Their feedback is highly valued.  Parents/Carers report that they particularly enjoy being invited in to events such as performing arts, they use words such as 'fantastic', 'impressive', 'wonderful' etc.  Parents/Carers report being pleased with the curriculum on offer and particularly pleased with the variety and number of out of hours clubs on offer.  We will continue to make sure we work to at least maintain, and where we can, improve upon these standards.
  • Our Achievement Assembly was a wonderful event again this year, with too many achievements to mention here!  We are so proud of all of our pupils!!
