2nd Sunday Ordinary Time John 2 1-11

OUTSTANDING - The Religious Education Inspection Report has finally arrived and will be sent to each family next week. It makes very enjoyable reading, as you can see from these two quotes,

“Every Individual is valued regardless of status and position and no-ones contribution goes unnoticed.”

“St Benedict’s is an outstanding school that consistently achieves very high standards of work in their Religious Education.”

Well done to children, parents, all staff, and Governors as the report is testimony to the teamwork that goes into St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School.

THREE KINGS APPEAL –Thank you to all who brought in gifts for the Three Kings Appeal. It was lovely to welcome Peter Gordon from the Shrewsbury Diocese Catholic Children’s Society. Peter told the children how last year’s gifts were used to help a family who had lost everything due to a house fire. He was also able to accept a cheque for £496 from the sale of Nativity tickets. As you know our Diocesan schools and parishes are the Society’s only source of income and they are always very grateful for our help.

Thank you to all the parents who helped to clear the snow from the playground on Wednesday morning, especially Mr Shenton who came in with his tractor and snowplough.

Curriculum OverviewsTonight the curriculum overviews will go out. They are designed to provide parents with an insight into what will be going on in the classroom. As ever, if you have any questions about these please see your class teacher.

Time For A Change – Next week the children of Year 6 will be visited by judges of the ‘Time for a Change’ - an ethical enterprise project. They have been working very hard and have shown some of the project in assembly today. Mr Loxham is very excited about what they have done so far.  GOOD LUCK NEXT WEEK YEAR 6!

PTA NEWS

Mother Goose!

The PTA was very pleased to bring in Stage Door productions this week to perform ‘Mother Goose’ as a post Christmas gift to the Children.  We hope all enjoyed this well deserved treat!

Mobile Phones

Have you any unused mobile phones?  There will be a collection envelope in the bookbags tonight.  Please help raise fund for the PTA by sending in any old mobile phones in the envelopes provided.  If you have more than one, then just put any further handsets into a plastic bag.
